Cinema on the Border

Since 2019, we have participated in the Cinema on the Border film festival, which is the largest review of Polish, Czech and Slovak movies held simultaneously in two border towns: Polish Cieszyn and Czech Český Těšín.

The bridge which connects the two towns is called the Friendship Bridge and symbolizes the idea behind the film festival.

Since its beginning in 1999, the aim of Cinema on the Border (Kino na Granicy/Kino na hranici) has been to promote Central European cinematography on both sides of the Polish-Czech border. Apart from movie screenings, the festival program also includes concerts, exhibitions, discussions, workshops, and meetings with actors and directors. Thanks to its rich and original agenda and its unique atmosphere, Cinema on the Border has won the hearts of thousands of fans and is appreciated by the film community.

The PRZEKRÓJ Foundation supports the festival both as a media sponsor and participant. During the event itself, we host improvised shows together with the Warsaw Comedy Club, exhibit our magazine’s covers, organize meetings with members of our team, and show our films like The Whale and our animations. We also invite our readers to visit our pop-up store, where you can buy current and archived issues of our magazine, as well as posters, bags, postcards, and mugs or simply sit comfortably on a daybed and read.
