Zbigniew Lengren, Przekrój’s legendary cartoonist, was a caricaturist who never presented anyone in a malicious way. He invented our mascot, Professor Filutek, a jolly man dressed in old-fashioned-style clothes, with a bowler hat and umbrella.
In June 2022, the Museum of Caricature in Warsaw opened its new location at 6/8a Brzozowa Street, where Lengren lived and worked for years. Lengrenówka, as it is now known, serves as a year-round cultural and educational facility. It houses workshops, lectures, meetings, and exhibitions. The collection of the Museum of Caricature includes over 130 drawings and posters by Lengren.
The PRZEKRÓJ Foundation is a partner of Lengrenówka. We provided the museum with animations featuring Professor Filutek, as well as archive materials and memorabilia from the artist’s family.
